ABOUT US
SIMON OTERO
Owner and Coach
Growing up, Simon ran track but found a love for bodybuilding and lifting in college. After studying social work in college, he worked directly under Anthony "Coach T" Trujillo of Zia Strength Systems, a well known coach who worked directly with Louie Simmons and Westside Barbell for over a decade. While working with Coach T, Simon learned and developed his training philosophies by adapting the Conjugate Principles. During that time, Simon trained some of the biggest names in the YouTube fitness industry, including Bart Kwan of Barbell Brigade, Christian Guzman of Alphalete, Maxx Chewning of Sour Strips, and Russel "RusSwole" Orhii of The Better Brand. He not only coached some of the most notable names but was coached by and worked with others like Sean Noriega and Joey Flexx. Around the same time, he was featured on multiple popular podcasts produced by Jim McD, Silent Mike, and Omar Isuf. Today, he is the strength and conditioning coach of Dark Haven Studio and has broken into the film industry by working with actors such as Jesse Garcia from Flamin' Hot, Shelley Hennig from the Global #1 Netflix series, Obliterated, and Teen Wolf, and YouTube personality and film maker Matt Page, also known as "Master Ken".
KASEY HILTON
Co-Founder and Assistant Coach
In college, Kasey was a member of the Purdue women's rowing team and through it found a love for lifting. She was known to spend free time in the boathouse gym picking up heavy things with her teammates and coach. After college, she took her love for lifting and competitive nature, and started powerlifting. Today, she is still powerlifting competitively and enjoys jiu jitsu on the side. Kasey manages the branding and business side of Iron Edge and is currently working on her NCSF Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach certification. She plans to use her certification to educate and empower people, especially women, to find their love for fitness.
